This kitchen remodel is an example of design bringing form and function together. The beauty of the cabinetry hides many practical elements included to provide easy access to all kitchen accessories.
With the large “U” shaped layout and thoughtfully spaced walkways, this kitchen invites all to participate in the preparation of family meals.
Notice the lighted upper cabinets with glass fronts which allow this client to showcase a beautiful collection of fine dishwear and provide the room with an extra light feature.
Island Paradise
Contrasting from the painted cabinetry, the island has stained cabinets to give it a more furniture-like feel. Almost like an executive desk sitting in the middle of the room, the kitchen island, with its wood base topped by a grand quartzite slab with built up Dupont edges, has a more formal and impressively large feel.
In order to tie in the stained cabinets with the rest of the kitchen, a custom vent hood cover was built to match the detailing found on the island.
The perimeter of the kitchen, in contrast to the island, has a more casual appearance with solid white quartz countertops with straight edges. This wonderful color variation between the white counter tops and the dusty blue cabinets is very pleasing to the eye.
Butler's Pantry
Just around the corner, behind the stove and vent hood, is a lovely butler’s pantry which connects conveniently to the dining room. With the added space for entertaining essentials, hosting large parties becomes much easier. Combining the design features of the main kitchen with added conveniences, like a built-in ice machine and display cabinets for fine china, this butler’s pantry elevates hosting to an art form.
